Youth Art Class

$225.00

Our Drawing and Painting For Youth Class alternates between exercises focused on drawing with graphite and pen and ink, and then learning to handle paint with watercolor. Students advance through the projects at their own pace with each class building on the next, laying a strong foundation of drawing skills, color mixing, and painting techniques.

The foundation of artistic practice is drawing, learning to see and simplify shapes and learn various techniques. As students become familiar with the expressive quality of line they improve their eye/hand coordination and focus, and they learn to see in mass and shape through watercolor. Each of these tools, helps them to work from life and imagination.

Students receive personalized feedback and instruction to help them work through new skills and techniques as they are ready. They also learn by watching more advanced students and practice foundational principles with each project.

Ages 10-17.
