Event Description

Art Camp offers an opportunity for students, ages 10-17 to work with two professional art teachers for a week of artistic learning, growth and fun!

Learning to see and think like an artist is an essential step for students of every skill level. With provided materials and guided instruction, students will train as artists, practicing skills and techniques in a variety of media and learn the process of creating realism in art.

  • Camp participants will build confidence, strengthen observation skills, and build foundational artistic skills to further their art journey.
  • Time in the studio will include observation, discussion, and practice in how to see and create as an artist.
  • Demonstrations of sequential exercises to work with line, shape/mass and color and will be given with pencil, pen and ink and watercolor.
  • Students will work through exercises to develop skills to achieve the techniques of realistic drawing and painting.
  • Still-life and the outside environment will further develop and enhance skills in application to real life subjects.
