Fundamentals of Oil Painting 

January 7 – February 25 (Wednesdays) 1-4pm

Location: IN PERSON – Old Central School – Attic, Grand Rapids, MN

Learn the fundamentals of oil painting in this eight week foundational course. Each class is designed to build upon previous lessons, with each person working at their own pace. 

Objectives:

• Gain confidence in developing your oil painting practice by applying those practices and knowledge to your own project.
• Learn safe, non-toxic, archival oil paint handling techniques.
• Learn how to approach oil painting from a variety of historical methods.

The first 4 to 6 weeks will include specific oil painting practices and techniques as well as opportunities for you to work on a self-directed project. I will work directly with each student on their specific artistic goals with feedback tailored to each student.

Suitable for beginners.  Basic drawing skills are recommended. Also suitable for those versed in other mediums that would like to learn how to paint in oil.

Students will have the option to continue at a monthly rate of $225.
