July 25- August 4
Carnegie Center for Creativity 200 Matthews Street
Fort Collins, CO
Once again we have a wide range of artwork on display and available to add to your collection including fiber art, wood turning, pastels, poured resin, watercolor, mixed media, acrylic, photography and oil paintings. Ranging from large works to miniature, figure, portrait, abstraction and collage, each artist presents new pieces of beauty, intrigue and humor. I am pleased to present several new floral, portrait and landscape paintings.
This past winter, I began a deeper exploration into the human figure with a semester of drawing at Front Range Community College. Our final project was to create a painting based on “the human figure as an expression of inner psychology”, where I created “Nothing to Wear” as my final project. (You can read more here.)
And, as a bonus, I spent a week in Putney, VT studying portrait and figure in oil with award-winning artist Michelle Dunaway. That laid the foundation for two portraits, one in pastel and one in oil, both of which are currently on display.
Open House and Artist Demonstrations – Saturday, July 28 1-3 pm
Several artists will display their painting methods and techniques, answering questions and providing you with information on what happens ‘behind the scenes’. I will have either my pastel or oil paints on hand for a demonstration.
